There are certain locations in and around Birmingham where I absolutely love photographing. If I had to rate churches in the area, I would say that The Cathedral of Saint Paul comes up very much near the top of that list. It is an amazing, gorgeous sanctuary and the light streaming through the windows allows for some beautiful photos. Add to this recipe a gorgeous bride and a good looking groom, and you have a winning combination. Madelaine & Cary’s wedding was such a great event! Not only were they easy to work with, but their families were great as well. It truly is a pleasure photographing weddings when everything comes together as it did this day.

As the first wedding of the new year, I’d say I couldn’t have started better. The weather was great, no complaints there. The location was great. The couple was awesome. I loved sharing in and capturing this sweet couple’s special day.

Emma & Dixon

Some years are good. Some years are not so good. Some years are great. I would say, for me, 2012 was a great year, and I probably could not have ended it in a better way than by photographing Emma & Dixon’s wedding. Both of them and their families were incredibly nice and easy to work with. As you can see, the wedding party was also a great bunch. The staff at The Tutwiler Hotel was, as always, extremely helpful and nice and, as always, it was great being back in Cathedral Church of the Advent. All in all, 2012 will go down in history as a great year.

Ashlon & Kenji

Alabama is known for one thing – that is, weird weather – and this has been especially true this year. However, when the weather cooperates, things go well for an outdoor wedding. Ashlon & Kenji’s day was amazing (well, it could’ve been a few degrees cooler; I think everyone would have been ok with that). A BIG thanks to the ladies at Elite Engagements for making sure everything went smoothly.

If I had to make a list of the coolest, most unique, most awesome venues in the Birmingham area, The Sterling Castle would be among the top, for sure! I mean, how many people can say “I got married in a castle!” Kimberly and Adam can definitely say that… What an amazing setup!
